Programme notes
Shea Lolin's programme note:
"Lux Aeterna is a piece for woodwind orchestra which draws together the many different musical worlds which I work in every day. Many composers have written some powerful works depicting death as fire, hell and destruction as well as peace and melancholy. My composition begins in darkness and distress, developing into a light filled last movement. Light is something which fascinates me. The night followed by day, the winter followed by spring. The sense of renewing and of hope. One of the great moments in the Catholic Church is first echo of the Alleluia at the Easter Vigil. It is joyful and triumphant and my composition celebrates this transition."
